STAMP Wreaths Across America Clean-Up 1/28/17

This event is rain or shine; each family needs to decide how much (bad) weather they can handle….
Bring a broom handle, rake, stick, or something equivalent to carry multiple wreaths to collection points. Some people bring a long heavy rope.

Please dress for the weather. We recommend multiple layers, gloves, hats, and waterproof footwear; in previous years there was snow on the ground when we picked up the wreaths. Consider bringing a backpack in case anyone needs to shed a layer.

Schedule for Saturday morning's wreath pick up:

-7:45: Be near a gate to enter Arlington Cemetery (see Ft Myer map)
-8:00: Gates open to pick up wreaths

Transportation
-Drive and park in Ft Myer (allow plenty of time for your vehicle to go through a security inspection)(the main Arlington National Cemetery parking lot will not be available)

-Metro (to Arlington Natl Cemetery  or to Rosslyn & enter through the Ord & Weitzel gate)

Driving directions to Ft Myer:
I-66 E to Glebe Rd south/east to Rt 50 east (right-side ramp) to Rt 27 east….go about 100 yards and exit immediately right for Ft Myer….go another <100 yards and turn left and then left again to the main gate of the fort. Be prepared to show photo ID and have your car quickly searched.

Once through security, turn left onto McNair Rd and look to park in the lots on the right. The best area is opposite the Spates building, which is a low brick building with a white roof and a green canopy on the front of the building. Selfridge Gate is the gate closest to the parking lot near Spates building.
