WMES PTA E-NEWS

Parents and guardians of Waples Mill students, along with Waples Mill faculty and staff, are welcome to sign up to receive the WMES PTA E-News. Please note, if you received the E-News last year, you do not need to sign up again.

The E-News is an electronic newsletter sent via e-mail every Tuesday and contains important information from the PTA and the school. Articles include: information regarding PTA events, meetings, and programming, including Enrichment Classes; messages from our principal, Mrs. Thetford; updates about the school's stewardship program; details about FCPS programming; and general school information.

To sign up, please send an e-mail to enews@waplesmillpta.org with the following information:

Policy on E-News Articles

Whereas, the Waples Mill Elementary School PTA (the “PTA”) disseminates information every Tuesday during the school year via an electronic news (or hard copy for those opting out) (collectively, the “e-News”);

Whereas, the PTA has been asked on several occasions to include information in the e-News that is related to activities or events that are not sponsored by Waples Mill Elementary School (“WMES”) nor the PTA;

Whereas, the PTA desires to have a policy regarding such inclusion;

Accordingly, the PTA, after due consideration, hereby adopts the following policy:

The PTA e-News shall include only information related to activities or events sponsored by WMES or the PTA. By way of explanation, articles related to (i) a teacher’s studies is considered sponsored by WMES; (ii) the SCA collecting coats is sponsored by WMES; (iii) Boy Scouts collecting gloves is NOT sponsored by WMES.

This Policy is duly adopted this 7th day of October, 2010.
